In the Spirit…

"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet..." Revelation 1.10
You can only hear the voice of God and obey it when you are in the Spirit.
And what does it mean to be in the Spirit?
Is it possible to be in the Spirit when everything is in your favor? No.
Is it possible to live in the Spirit while your flesh savors all the pleasures of this world? No.
Therefore, how can you be in the Spirit?
1 - When your mind meditates in the Word of God or when your thoughts are subjected to the thoughts of the Almighty;
2 - When meditating on the Word requires sacrificing the visual and audible things of this world. This means becoming blind and deaf to everything that is going on around you. Abstinence of the Internet, TV, movies, literature and any secular entertainment that distracts the mind from the things of the Spirit.
It is certainly difficult. Just like the salvation of the soul is difficult.
The Lord Jesus says:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7.13-14
Indeed, there have been few who sacrifice the comfort of the wide gate, the easy path of the kingdom of this world, to ensure entry into the Kingdom of Heaven through the narrow gate. This is why only a few have received the plenitude of the Holy Spirit.
But there is no other option, anyone who wants to pay the price to receive the Spirit of God has to sacrifice, they must abstain from the lusts of the flesh.
The Fast of Daniel is intended only for those that are thirsty of the Spirit of God.
