Mount Sinai

Let’s use our intelligent faith during this Challenge of Mount Sinai. If you’ve already been sealed by the Holy Spirit and you are absolutely sure of your salvation, then go after the realisation of your dream—a material blessing, a blessed love life, etc. But if you have any doubts about your eternal salvation, then this should be your priority. This is the most important thing in your life.

What profit is it to you if you save the whole world and lose your soul? You can even enjoy a comfortable life for awhile, but you will not enjoy it forever! Let’s invest in our soul and guarantee our eternal salvation. When we achieve this spiritual dream (the seal of God), all other dreams will eventually come true, naturally. It’s written:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Many people make the, sometimes, fatal mistake: they ignore this piece of advice. They have focused their faith first on material and emotional blessings. They forget that a spiritual blessing is the foundation of all the other blessings. To fight for any dream before obtaining your spiritual blessing is like running after the wind. There are those who even succeed, but it doesn’t last for long and, as a result, they become frustrated.

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” The wise wins souls. But first, he has to win his own soul.

If you haven’t had a personal experience with the Lord Jesus, then this should be your priority in the Challenge of Mount Sinai

Why Mount Sinai?

Mount Sinai is a 7500 foot natural altar rising abruptly from the Egyptian desert, the highest mountain in its range.

Another name for Mt Sinai is Horeb, which means ‘waste’, and to this very day it remains mostly wilderness and desert with a very few Bedouins and shepherds living there.

Over 3000 years ago Hebrew slaves—the waste of Egypt—came and camped at the foot of Sinai after leaving their land of slavery.

At that time they were nothing but human waste: men, women, children, young and old—with backs scarred by the whips of their slave masters, calloused feet from years of standing knee-deep in mud to make bricks for pharaoh’s cities, old ragged clothes and eyes that had seen nothing but the horrible images of slavery from the day they were born.

But there, at the foot of this mountain, that people became a great nation! A group of disorderly slaves, they departed from Sinai with the Book of the Law that had been given to them by God Himself, with clear directions to the Promised Land. They were assured of God’s help and protection as they marched on, and at one point rose to be one of the most prosperous and feared nations on earth.

Therefore Mount Sinai is a symbol of victory, of rising from the ashes, of the impossible becoming possible, of the weak becoming strong. It’s where waste becomes wealth, and the forgotten are remembered. It is also a reminder that God sees and remembers His people, and does not leave them at the mercy of their oppressors.

Sinai is the only mountain on earth where God set His foot and decidedly changed the destiny of His people.

This is why we go there! When we are standing on the peak of that mountain, our faith is at its highest. All these facts come to life because we’re not just reading about Mount Sinai—it’s there before our very eyes!

And so this is why we encourage a challenge of faith on Mount Sinai once a year in our church. From the first time we did this in 1980, thousands of people have achieved great victories and given wonderful testimonies as a result of the prayers made on this mountain.

We go to Mount Sinai for great things. We go there to radically change lives. We go there to solve difficult situations.

We go to prove that our faith is genuine through sacrifice, and to receive the manifestation of God’s promises in our lives!

It’s a privilege to be part of this event. It is a blessing to take part in the Challenge of Mt Sinai.

6 prayers God does not answer (p.2)

Prayer was never meant to be unanswered. God established prayer as a channel of communication between man and Him. Surprisingly, even a brief look into the Scriptures will show that God is more eager to hear man than man is willing to call on Him. Clearly, God is not too busy to hear you nor is He rejecting you.

Why then do your prayers seem to be falling in deaf ears? Here are three more reasons:

4. The prayer that does not care about God’s will
– I knew a man whose faith was very shaken because God “let” his aging mother die after he’d prayed so hard for her recovery. We need to understand that God’s will is sovereign and does not revolve around our selfish interests. Sometimes what we want is not what God wants for us. But if we trust in His goodness and wisdom as a Father, we may come to understand that what we were asking wasn’t really for our best.

5. The prayer that is not based on a promise – When was the last time you claimed your right as a customer, employee or country citizen? What was the basis of your claim? You called upon a written promise, agreement, or law. And based on that, you put your foot down and did not accept any less than your right. In the same way, our prayers must be based on God’s promises (the Bible has more than 8,000 of them) because then we know we are asking what He has already committed Himself to give us.

6. The prayer that never gets there – When you send a letter, you want to make sure it gets into the hands of the right person. If you write a letter to President Obama for example, what are the chances he will read it? Nearly zero. But if you go to school with the Obama daughters and one of them promises to make sure her dad gets your letter, you can consider it done. As sinners we do not deserve any blessing from God. But if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ — God’s Son and the sinner’s Friend — and pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, then we can be sure that our prayer will go to God. Any other name is a waste of time. “Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.” John 16.23

Prayer is meant to get results. If you would like to know more about how you can increase your faith and pray so you get results, join us in one of our prayer services.

HEALING DAY

If medication has eased your symptoms, but hasn't healed you, if doctors are unable to find a solution, if you wonder if modern research will ever find a cure in your lifetime, if you know that only God can rescue you, then turn to Him for your answer. "But I've already prayed," you may say. "I've used all the faith I have and nothing has changed. Could it be God's will to stay sick for the rest of my life? I don't think I have the strength to keep raising my hopes only to be disappointed." Prayer for healing requires a faith that comes from understanding who God is and what His will is for you. If your faith is shaky, we at UCKG are ready to help you and to use our faith on your behalf. Even if you feel that your faith has totally drained away, come and we will lift you up. Healing is for you, for today, for all those who learn to believe in a simple and effective way.

God promises in James 5: 14-15:

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And in prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We invite you for Healing Day, Sunday, May 16th, at the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Pastors and prayer counselors will be consecrating their hands to minister healing to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Come and receive the miracle that you have been waiting for. We will also be giving you a small vial of blessed oil for anointing, and we will teach you how you can use this oil for your personal life.

6 prayers God does not answer (p.1)

You got really upset when you prayed and didn’t get what you asked for. It even made you wonder, “Is God really there?” And yet, all the time you hear stories of people who got answers to their prayers.
So, what’s the secret? What could you be doing wrong?

This is not an attempt to provide a full-length answer to these questions. There can be many more than 6 reasons why someone fails to get their prayers answered – each case is a different case. However, the ones below are common examples of prayers that God does not answer. See if you have been making that mistake.

1. The prayer that lacks faith
– The secret of successful prayer is to believe that what you asked is already done by faith, even before you can see it with your eyes. The mistake many people make is that they usually want to see it before they believe it.

2. The prayer that is against God’s principles – Ever heard of the lady who prayed so hard for God to help her marry her best friend’s husband? How can God answer a prayer that goes directly against His principles of right and wrong? It’s like asking a conservative to vote for the liberal candidate. He won’t do it.

3. The prayer that lacks action – No matter how much you can pray, you need to realize that there are things God will do only after you do your part. I usually say that God is not a God of action, but a God of reaction. He reacts to your actions of faith. So make sure you are adding actions to your prayers.

To be continued next week, when I’ll give you the other three kinds of prayer that God does not answer. In the meantime, if you have a prayer request and would like me to pray with you on it, please just send me an email and describe it briefly.

Irena Sendler - A mother to many

Sunday is a very special day when we recognize all the efforts and love and care of many mothers who have poured, and still do, their life on behalf of their children. I also want to praise mothers to many who do not have children of their own but have adopted, cared and loved children who, today, if not by their efforts, would have no reason to celebrate Mothers’ day.

They are those carers who provide in orphanage, children’s clinic, grandmas or aunts raising their relatives. We pay tribute to these courageous women who did not deny a calling and sacrificed themselves for others.

This is the story of a brave woman – Irena Sendler, our hero on Mother’s Day! She passed away recently at the age of 98. During the Second World War, Irena got an authorization to work at the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumber. But her real intention was to save children from death in the gas cameras.

She would hide toddlers in her toolbox and kept bags for older children in the back of her truck with a dog that was trained to bark to the soldiers to cover up for any noise from the children.

While she managed to do this work, she has saved about 2,500 children until they found out and, as a punishment, broke her arms and legs holding her in severe imprisonment.

She kept records of the children, in a glass bottle embedded underneath of a tree in her garden. After the end of the war, she tried to find the families to those children but many were killed by the Nazis.

Therefore she made sure those orphans would go to a shelter or be adopted by foster parents.

She was appointed for the Noble Prize last year but not chosen however in the hearts of millions she is a mother to be remembered today.
