Moses was a servant of the Almighty God.
He was a living offering.
Joshua was the servant of Moses.
Just because Joshua served a servant of God, it did not give him the right to be called a servant of God.
Although he was anointed by Moses, as God had commanded, Joshua was only considered a servant after he obeyed the Word of God until the end of his days, Joshua 24.29.
Before he died, he warned the children of Israel: the Lord is Holy, He is a Zealous God and hates sin and transgression. You cannot serve Him and continue living in sin.
Therefore, in order for you to be called a servant of God, it is essential to live your life separate from sin and obey His voice until death.
Going to church, reading the Bible, praying, fasting, being faithful in your tithes and offerings are very important, but not enough.
What good is it to do all these things and continue living in sin?
To those who find themselves in this situation, Jesus said: “Woe to you … hypocrites! For you pay
tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone,” Mathew 23.23.
Sin is an evil spirit.
It uses man to upset the Lord Almighty God.
Those who serve sin, serve the spirit of Satan.
Is this difficult to hear?
But, worse than hearing this is being deaf.
Is it difficult to read this?
But, worse than reading this is being blind.
However, there is something far worse than being deaf or blind and that is to know that your name is not written in the Book of Life and then have your soul thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, Revelation 20.10-15.
There will only be weeping and gnashing of teeth because of the eternal suffering.
On the other hand, those who choose to obey the Word of God serve the Spirit of God. They are servants.
And for the servants, there is a guarantee that came straight from the Mouth of God:
“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you,” Joshua 1.5.
May the Lord receive praise through our lives – a living offer.
