Two
people are attracted to each other through the impulses of their
hearts. But as soon as they begin a conversation, they become aware of
their differences.
Differences in faith, social status,
age, culture, religion, customs… from a rational point of view, a series
of things are sure to impede the success of a future relationship.
And yet, because they believe in the old
wives’ tale that "love" bears all, they go ahead anyways. Reason cries
out, warns and tries to help. Yet a twisted heart covers their eyes,
blocks their ears and burns with "love at first sight”. The pleasure of
that moment is so contagious that it shuts out the voice of reason.
Even when differences are insignificant,
a loving relationship requires sacrifice. But since the heart is the
center of emotion, it is unwilling to do this, and as a consequence
maintaining the relationship will be difficult.
As a result of this, disappointments
come, as do betrayals, suicidal thoughts and neglecting children and
homes. In other words, this couple experiences a little taste of hell,
and that’s if it manages to escape tragedy.
In the clash between reason and emotion,
the heart always has an advantage, unless you have the mind of the Lord
Jesus and a new heart.
Otherwise, your old heart is still the
boss, introducing anxiety to the lives of those who long for immediate
blessings and quick answers, that rarely agree with the will of God.
It’s interesting how pagan hearts
couldn’t care less about what is written. They just ignore everything,
including God. They only have eyes for what interests them. When they
want their “dreams” to come true, they give their all and don’t worry
about the difficulties they have to go through.
They do not think, do not wait and do not weigh the consequences. They are completely dominated by the spirit of anxiety.
But when they’re lost, they call out to
God and want immediate answers. When they don’t receive an answer within
their own time frame, they abandon their faith and blame the Lord, and
that is all the devil needs to prepare his next attack.
For those who think and live by faith "an inheritance gained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed at the end."Proverbs 20.21
